2009 Highlights
The 3rd Annual Literacy & Beyond was held on September 28, 2009, at beyond restaurant + lounge. Dozens of BC wineries offered wine tastings, and Daniel Le Chocolate Belge presented his finest sweets.
Hal Wake, the artistic director of the Vancouver International Writers and Readers Festival, and Anthony Gismondi, one of North America’s most influential wine critics, hosted Literacy & Beyond. Rick Cluff, of the CBC's Morning Edition and Fred Lee, the CBC's man-about-town, hosted our live auction, which raised $15,000 of the $33,000 total raised to support literacy in BC.
